The Sharing the National Collection Scheme will loan 4 works to the Fraser Coast region of Hervey Bay for a special exhibition of national and local artists.

The works will form part of the exhibition opening in September: National Interests: Australian Arts in the 20th century.

The works include:

  • Head of a Soldier by Sidney Nolan, 1942
  • Landscape near Berwick by Arthur Boyd, 1948
  • Still Life: fruit (Arnhem Land motif) by Margaret Preston, 1941
  • Basket of fruit by John Wardell Power, 1936.

The Sharing the National Collection initiative provides the opportunity for direct collaboration with regional partners so more Australians can experience artworks from the national collection where they live.

Regional galleries can register their interest in the loan scheme on the National Gallery of Australia's (NGA) website.

You can view the works using the NGA's Search the Collection function.
