The Government continues to support the resurgence of the live music sector, with $2.5 million in grants to uplift music festivals across Australia.
Festivals came to a grinding halt due to the disastrous impacts of COVID-19, which is why the Government are supporting artists to get back on stage to inspire audiences and to increase the delivery of original Australian music at festivals.
The latest funding under the $20 million Live Music Australia program will support 36 event organisers across the country in both major cities and regional and remote communities with event and performance costs..
This funding will enable both creative workers and audiences to make the most of our great Australian festivals in 2023, after an extended period of disruption.
The grants were awarded following a rigorous merit-based process involving music industry representatives with the successful applicants demonstrating their commitment to hosting music focussed festivals and presenting original Australian live music acts.
