Arts Minister Tony Burke has announced the appointment of Mr Tony Grybowski as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Australia Council.

Signed National Arts and Culture Accord released

The signed National Arts and Culture Accord has been released. This agreement, between the Australian Government, state, territory and local governments is a commitment between all levels of government to work together to support arts and culture.

Australian Indigenous ancestral remains return home from Germany

Arts Minister Tony Burke and Parliamentary Secretary for the Arts Michael Danby have welcomed the return of ancestral remains to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities from the Charité Medical University in Berlin, Germany.

New Australian Pavilion at Venice Biennale given green light

The Prime Minister has announced that Tony Burke will become Minister for the Arts in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Mr Burke will be assisted in the Arts by Michael Danby as his Parliamentary Secretary.
