Policies & programs
Online cultural resources include resources created and provided by both the government and non-government sectors for an online environment. Online resources create connected service delivery, meeting user needs and achieving value for money.
One of the aims of creating online resources is to promote and provide wide electronic access to Australia’s cultural collections, to increase audience reach and allow cultural institutions nationwide to work more effectively together.
Policies and programs
The Department administers policies and programs to encourage the cultural sector’s engagement with online resources. Support for online access to the culture sector includes Australia on CD, which showcases Australia's cultural endeavour, artistic performance and heritage achievements. Site licenses are available free of charge to Australian primary and secondary schools and Australian public libraries.
