On 3 July 2012, the Minister for the Arts, Simon Crean MP, announced $27 million in funding for Indigenous arts, culture, and language programs across Australia in 2012–13.

Indigenous Culture Support
Funding supports participation by Indigenous Australians in cultural activities and the transmission of knowledge and skills across generations to build sustainable communities.
Indigenous Languages Support
Funding supports the maintenance, transmission and revival of Indigenous languages.
Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support
Funding supports the operations of Indigenous art centres and allied industry organisations with the aim of building a stronger Indigenous visual arts industry.
