Indigenous Art Code
The Indigenous Art Code is an industry-led voluntary code of conduct that aims to ensure fair and ethical trade between art dealers and Indigenous visual artists.
The need for a code of conduct for the Indigenous visual arts industry was identified by the Senate Inquiry report into the Indigenous visual arts and craft sector.
The Code is administered by Indigenous Art Code Limited (IartC Ltd), a public company established to manage the Code for the Indigenous visual arts industry. The Australian Government supports IartC Ltd through provision of operational funding and secretariat services.
