About the Office for the Arts

The Office for the Arts (OFTA) is the Australian Government’s arts and culture policy and funding body.

On Monday 12 December 2011 the Prime Minister announced a number of changes to the Ministry and government portfolios. As a result, the Office for Sport and Office for the Arts have merged with the Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government.

The new Department is now known as the Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport.
